City Hall Plaza "Aore Nagaoka" is the first complex facility in Japan that integrates an arena that can accommodate 5,000 people, an open Nakadoma (covered open space), and the city hall.
The huge space that suddenly appears on the main street attracts the attention of people passing by. Designed by Kengo Kuma, one of Japan's leading architects, the free space filled with the warmth of wood is the stage for various activities as a base for civic collaboration and exchange.
